I’m very excited to see the beautiful space that is the Google YouTube offices in San Bruno, CA. Working with this team, including the pastry chef has been a dream. Did you know that the ingredients are local, organic and fair-traded? The pastry team is making the Ganache Glazed Chocolate Torte to Live For, both wheat and gluten free versions and serving the Vanilla Pastry Cream from Vegan Chocolate. My cookbook trailer, as seen on YouTube will be shown and some of the ingredients from the recipes will be set out in an area of the cafe. I’ll be available to answer questions about the recipes. Do you think the googlers will like the cakes? I’ll be surprised if they don’t. Books will be available for purchase.
The 41st annual conference is set for July 8 – 12, 2015, (Wednesday through Sunday.) at the theConference Center at Pitt-Johnstown on the University of Pittsburg campus at Johnstown, Pennsylvania.

You’ll gain the confidence to adapt many standard recipes to delicious vegan versions, as you learn about foundational pastry technique and ingredients specific to vegan baking. Quality organic, seasonal ingredients will be emphasized, including whole grain flours, organic fair-traded sweeteners (both liquid and granulated), vegan gelatin (agar-agar), root starches, non-dairy milks, sulfite-free dried fruits, chocolate, cocoa, pure extracts, leavening agents and much more. Novice and experienced bakers and everyone in between will benefit from the expert training offered in this unique intensive. Plating of desserts will be practiced daily and a dessert buffet party will be our finale.
